DR. CAROLYN MAXFIELD

Dr. Maxfield is dedicated to working with people that want to regain their health and understand the root cause of their health problems. Her goal is to educate her patients on HOW to live and maintain this healthy lifestyle. Dr. Maxfield saw her first Chiropractor at the age of 13 where she was treated for a gymnastics injury.  This was her first introduction to this holistic lifestyle and approach. Through this she learned the importance of whole food nutrition and supplementation. Because she was a highly competitive athlete in a demanding sport, she started to understand the direct correlation between what she ate and how she performed in gymnastics. The healthier food she ate, the better she performed and felt overall.  This helped inspire her passion to help people become healthier from the inside out.  She received her Bachelors in Exercise Science from Ohio State University and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Maxfield encourages preventative care, and not waiting until symptoms appear.  She specializes in hormone imbalances and symptoms, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, lowered immune system and responses, and thyroid imbalances, both hypo and hyper. Later she was diagnosed with endometriosis and did not seek conventional medicine. Through chiropractic care and specific natural supplementation she has overcome endometriosis, adrenal fatigue, and a spiral of other hormone problems. Even this short list of “problems” made her realize there had to be a reason so many people are suffering unnecessarily. Her personal journey lead her to dedicate her life to real health care to help transform people’s lives, and to inspire as many people as she can.

After years of experiencing digestive disorders, Becca began to believe there had to be another answer beyond pharmaceuticals.  While suffering through GERD, ulcers, acid reflux, eczema, IBS, heart palpitations, anxiety and other hormonal imbalances, conventional medicine just offered her a new pill each time the first seemed to stop working.  Thankfully, she was seeing a chiropractor that convinced her to try an elimination diet and her life was changed forever in a matter of weeks.  Learning quickly that proper nutrition is the basis for true health, she was able to combine her love of cooking with her determination to become healthy again.  She soon added Nutritional Response Testing, a form of muscle testing and kinesiology, to her healing journey and within a short time most all of her symptoms were gone and she felt she finally had her life back.

These experiences made such an impact that she went back to school with the Nutritional Therapy Association to become a certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner so she could help others find their way back to health again, too.  Believing that treating the cause of the condition rather than just the symptoms is the only way to truly feel health, Becca focuses on nutrition and whole food supplements to help the body heal itself.  Her passion & areas of expertise are in nutrition, kids, maternity, digestion and gastrointestinal symptoms, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, and allergies: food, environmental and seasonal.  She is currently completing her Master's in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and is excited to join you on your journey.
